The Princeton Review Ranks CofC as a Green College
The Princeton Review is featuring the College of Charleston in its Guide to Green Colleges: 2026 Edition.

The College of Charleston will be recognized in The Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges: 2026 Edition, a free online resource that highlights higher education institutions demonstrating exceptional commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Each year, The Princeton Review surveys administrators at hundreds of colleges and universities across the country to assess sustainability-related policies, practices and programs. Student perspectives on campus sustainability efforts are also considered, offering a comprehensive view of how institutions are meeting the challenges of a changing planet.
“This continued recognition underscores the College’s dedication to creating a more sustainable future,” says Nicole Killen, director of sustainability at the College of Charleston. “From energy efficiency and waste reduction to curriculum innovation and community engagement, sustainability informs every decision we make as an institution. Being included again in The Princeton Review’s guide validates the work of our students, faculty and staff – and inspires us to keep leading by example.”
On Thursday, Nov. 6, the Center of Sustainable Development will host a campuswide presentation on the College’s sustainability progress and reporting. The presentation will dive into key findings from Center’s most recent AASHE STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System) report and provide an update on where the College currently stands in meeting its institutional sustainability goals.
The College’s Center for Sustainable Development serves as the hub of these efforts, driving progress toward the goals outlined in the Sustainability Action Plan, which focuses on carbon neutrality, zero waste, holistic learning and a culture of active sustainability. The center coordinates year-round programs and partnerships that empower the campus community to rethink, restore and redesign systems for a more sustainable world.
