Nominations are now open for a special election for the 2025–26 Staff Advisory Committee to the President (SAC).

SAC invites staff to voice their interest in the two unit vacancies available:

  • Executive/Administrative (one-year term)
  • Enrollment Planning (three-year term)

Only individuals in these units maybe nominated. Any permanent, full-time staff member who occupies a non-instructional position can self-nominate for an open organizational unit seat from their respective unit. Employees with the words “president” or “provost” in their titles or who are considered senior administrative officers are not eligible to serve on SAC. Staff who serve as adjunct faculty who meet the above criteria are eligible.

Those interested should submit their nominations by Friday, Aug. 29. Voting opens on Monday, Sept. 1.

SAC serves as an advisory group to president on issues, policies and practices that affect the university and those served by the committee. The purpose of SAC is to advise the president about staff opinions concerning matters of importance to the staff and institution, to receive the president’s requests for advice and counsel regarding matters relevant to the staff, to increase awareness of the staff’s contributions to the College and to promote the recognition of outstanding staff. SAC representatives can expect to:

  • build connections with colleagues across campus,
  • gain insight into College initiatives and programs,
  • develop leadership skills and
  • advise President Andrew T. Hsu on staff matters and support staff morale/recognition efforts.

Let your voice be heard! Nominate yourself for a seat on SAC today!
