5 Academic Programs Launched at CofC This Fall
The College of Charleston launched these five new programs this semester to answer critical workforce-development needs.

The College of Charleston is always adapting, always growing – taking its direction from the ever-changing needs of the world and its students. That’s why it is launching five new programs of study this fall, ensuring its students are on course for whatever direction they want to go – whether that be law, coastal preservation, public health or corporate leadership.
Together with the new B.S. in entrepreneurship, B.A. in general engineering, B.S. in engineering and business, and R.N.-to-B.S.N. nursing program starting in 2026, the new programs launched this semester are answering critical workforce-development needs for the College’s industry partners in the Lowcountry and the state.

Unlock the future with the College’s new Applied AI minor! Artificial Intelligence is transforming every area of study and work. This minor allows students to integrate AI into their major – whether in the arts, humanities, business, sciences or engineering – opening doors to new opportunities and innovation.

Marine geology aids in our understanding of vital scientific priorities such as changes in Earth’s climate, preservation of coastal regions and cultural heritage sites under threat. Careers in marine geology and technology are in high demand. This minor establishes a clear academic path for students interested in pursuing a career in this thriving industry or graduate school admissions.

Philosophy, Politics, and Economics Minor
The PPE minor focuses on philosophical ethics, political theory and economics and how these three areas can be applied to critically analyze social issues. The PPE is the perfect minor for students who want to go into fields like law, psychology, scientific research and communications. Students will build a foundation in political science and develop writing, analysis and critical-thinking skills.

Executive Doctorate of Business Administration Program
The Executive Doctorate of Business Administration graduate program provides the expertise and credentials students need to take their leadership to the next level. As the only EDBA program in South Carolina, this degree will help graduates stand out from the rest. Focusing on applied, real-world business challenges, the program is designed to help mid-to-senior-level professionals with 10+ years of experience and a master’s degree balance their professional commitments and their academic pursuits while building a powerful network with business leaders and industry executives.

Geospatial Graduate Certificate Program
Managed by the Master of Science in Environmental and Sustainability Studies program, the Geospatial Graduate Certificate Program is designed to meet the growing demand for professionals skilled in geospatial technology, an essential tool in industries such as environmental science, urban planning, business and public health. This certificate program offers both foundational and applied courses to equip students with the technical and practical skills required to thrive in the rapidly expanding geospatial field.
