The College of Charleston Ed.D. program has joined the consortium of over 160 colleges and universities that are part of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED).

Dedicated to transforming the Ed.D. degree, CPED member institutions engage in a vibrant professional learning community that supports faculty, students and administrators through national dialogue, collaborative inquiry, and shared feedback. Together, they aim to strengthen the rigor, relevance and impact of Ed.D. programs, preparing graduates to lead meaningful, transformative change in education.

Founded in 2007, CPED continues to lead the way in advancing practice-based doctoral education by promoting the development of scholarly practitioners who integrate theory, research and real-world experience to address pressing educational challenges.
