To better serve and engage the College of Charleston’s growing alumni, parents and friends networks, the Division of Institutional Advancement has expanded its reach by hiring regional gift officers. The new team of gift officers live in and will cover the following areas of the country: coastal Southeast (Savannah, Ga.; Myrtle Beach, Columbia, Charleston, Hilton Head/Bluffton and Beaufort, S.C.), Southeast (Fla., Ga., N.C.), mid-Atlantic (D.C., Md., Va.) and Northeast (Conn., N.J., Pa., N.Y.).

Leading the regional team is Chrissy Parke Rosen ’85, director of regional advancement and the gift officer for the Southeast region. Rosen has more than 25 years of fundraising experience. Before joining the College, she served as executive director of Georgia Gwinnett College, where she supervised a team responsible for individual, corporate and foundation gifts and led comprehensive campaign planning and strategy. She has been a Certified Fundraising Executive since 2013.

“After decades away from my beloved Lowcountry, I understand the challenges of staying connected with the College and its future vision,” says Rosen. “I am grateful to leverage my advancement experience to lead the exceptional professionals on this regional team and engage even more alumni.”

Covering the Northeast region, which includes three of the top states represented at the College – New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania – is Cameron Bauer ’17. Working for Congressman Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey and Congressman William Keating of Massachusetts has given him solid experience fostering relationships with local officials and individuals.

Michelle Weisman ’11 manages the mid-Atlantic region, which includes one of the top states represented at the College: Virginia. Weisman has broad fundraising experience, from conducting in-depth research on donor prospects and writing grant proposals to leading fundraising appeals and building relationships with donors.

Dominic Fucci handles the coastal Southeast. Fucci has fundraising experience at Mercyhurst University, including leading the university’s most successful annual giving day, and at the College of Charleston, where – prior to his new role – he was responsible for more than 250 donor prospects.

“We believe in the importance of becoming community members across our most alumni-populated regions as opposed to community visitors. These colleagues will not only serve as the face of the College in their respective regions, but they will also offer alumni, parents, friends, corporations and foundations more opportunities to interact with the College,” says Dan Frezza, chief advancement officer, adding that Cathy Mahon ’80, vice president of development, spearheaded the initiative. “Through this effort, and with regional members, the College will be better positioned to foster deeper levels of both engagement and philanthropy.”
