5 Things to Do Before You Graduate from CofC
The graduation clock is ticking, but there’s still time to explore Charleston and take advantage of the unique opportunities that only the Holy City has to offer. Check out these five must-do activities before you walk in May!

April showers bring May flowers. What do May flowers bring? … College of Charleston graduates!
As graduation approaches, you might be brainstorming some memorable activities to do with friends before the big day. Perhaps you feel like you’ve experienced all Charleston has to offer, or maybe there are a few things that are still calling your name.
Regardless, try to cross these five items off your bucket list before you cross the Cistern!

Walk the Ravenel Bridge
If you didn’t get a chance to participate in the Cooper Bridge Run this April, that doesn’t mean hiking across the Ravenel Bridge is off the table. Whether you’re up for a jog or a walk, soak in the gorgeous views of the Cooper River that you can’t always catch while driving.

Picnic at Hampton Park
Hampton Park is stunning in the spring with its beautiful floral displays, quaint ponds, romantic Spanish moss and crisply manicured lawns. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy a picnic with friends – and maybe some butterflies or ducks will join in, too!

Visit the International African American Museum
If you’re up for a more educational and visually complex experience, perhaps a trip to the museum should be your next to-do item. Located right on the water, the International African American Museum (IAAM) is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They offer a discount for locals, so take advantage of that before you leave!

Tour Fort Sumter
If you’re up for an educational experience and a boat cruise, then book a tour of Fort Sumter. This historic site is legendary in not just South Carolina history but U.S. history, making it a must-see spot for visitors and locals. And who would pass up the 30-minute ferry cruise across the Charleston Harbor?

Kayak or Paddleboard Shem Creek
There’s no better way to experience the beautiful views and playful dolphins at Shem Creek than by being directly on the water. Rent a kayak or paddleboard and sign up for a guided tour any day of the week – but there’s a 15% discount from Monday through Thursday! After your adventure, grab a bite to eat at one of the delicious restaurants along the water.

Honorable Mention: Trip on the Bricks!
OK, this one isn’t exactly recommended, but it’s a rite of passage here at CofC – and, chances are, you’ve probably already done it! Go ahead: Check tripping on the bricks off your list!
