Nominations Open for College of Charleston Staff Awards

Campus Updates, All News

It's time to recognize your colleagues and celebrate the impact of the CofC staff community!

The College of Charleston community is invited to nominate staff members for the annual Staff Awards through Wednesday, April 30, 2025, using this nomination form.

The Staff Awards recognize the outstanding achievements of College of Charleston’s permanent and temporary staff members in their roles as employees and their work for the university. Employees (not departments or programs) are recognized for their achievements for the previous year.

This year, the Staff Advisory Committee to the President (SAC) has restructured the awards to better recognize the contributions of the College of Charleston staff. This includes the creation of the Rising Cougar Award, which honors exceptional new employees.

The College thrives on the talents drawn from a diverse workforce, and nominations from all units on campus are encouraged. All members of the campus community are invited to nominate CofC staff for the following three categories:

The Outstanding Staff Member Presidential Service Award ($2,000 for the recipient) is given to the highest-scoring staff member among the Permanent and Temporary Staff Employee of the Year Awards nominees.

Multi-authored nominations are encouraged (authors may be from different departments and contribute to nominating one employee), and simply require all the authors be included in Question 6 on the nomination form.

Nominees’ contributions to our campus’ core values are key factors in the selection process. Please review the Staff Employee of the Year Awards Scoring Rubric and the Rising Cougar Award Scoring Rubric before using this online form to submit your nominations. Submissions can be made until April 30, 2025.

A SAC selection committee will choose the award winners, the awards will be announced and presented at the annual Celebration of Staff, to be held in the Johnson Center gymnasium at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
