Starbucks at Addlestone Library
Probably the most convenient option is the Starbucks in Marlene and Nathan Addlestone Library. It’s perfect for your morning fuel before class or for an afternoon pick-me-up before locking in for a library study sesh. Plus, Cougar Cards are accepted, and students can use their meal plans. With the recent sunny days we’ve been having, their new Blackberry Sage Refresher sounds quite tempting ….

Caviar & Bananas
Located across from the George Street Fitness Center is Caviar & Bananas, a specialty café that’s always bright and bustling with college students and Charleston locals alike. Whether you’re in the mood for coffee, a quick lunch or ice cream, Caviar’s diverse menu has something for you.

The Rise Coffee Bar
Located within the Restoration Hotel on Wentworth Street, this European-style coffee bar is certainly something to rise for in the morning! The outdoor patio makes a lovely study spot for the warm days coming up this spring. And the student discount is a nice perk!

Kudu Coffee
Its proximity to the CofC residence Halls on St. Philip and Vanderhorst Streets makes Kudu a popular pick for students. The spacious outdoor seating is great, and their pastry case is always full! It’s a convenient spot to meet up with friends between classes or before a shopping spree on King.

Idle Hands Coffee House
A bit tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this Warren Street coffee shop is a hidden gem. Its artisan coffee and beautiful, garden-esque patio make Idle Hands a relaxing study spot and a great place to bring visitors who want a taste of the unique, quirky spots Charleston has to offer.

Note: Speaking of coffee … The College of Charleston is hosting its first Cougar Coffee on March 31 from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Cistern Yard. Cougar Coffee is designed to encourage meaningful conversations, build connections and step outside of comfort zones, all over a great cup of coffee (and food)! All faculty, staff and students are invited.
