Campus Climate Survey Open to College of Charleston Community

News Briefs, Campus Updates

The College of Charleston community is invited to participate in a Campus Climate Survey through Nov. 15, 2024.

The College of Charleston is committed to creating and nurturing a community that values and respects everyone. To help in the effort to develop a long-term strategy for increasing diversity, equity and inclusion, the CofC community is invited to participate in the Campus Climate Survey. The information asked in the survey will help the College understand its campus climate, celebrate its strengths and lean into opportunities to improve.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, College of Charleston employees and College of Charleston students received an invitation through their CofC email address from Viewfinder Campus Climate Surveys with details about the survey and how to access it. Participants can access the survey from an internet browser on or off campus through Friday, Nov. 15, 2024.

The Campus Climate Survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. Participants may skip any questions they do not wish to answer. N/A responses in this survey include Not Applicable and I Don’t Know.

Participants’ answers will be saved as they move through the survey, so they may complete the entire survey at once, or go back later to finish, as long as they are using the same device (computer, mobile phone, etc.) they used when they first began it. Once they click the “Done” button at the end of the survey, participants will no longer be able to re-enter to make changes.

Once the survey is complete, participants will be eligible to enter a drawing to win prizes such as wireless bluetooth headphones, bluetooth speakers, tickets to Department of Music performances and CofC merch. Students are also eligible to win $25 in Cougar Cash and tickets to a Cougars athletics game; employees are also eligible for dining vouchers. Drawings will be held on Nov. 1, Nov. 8 and Nov. 18, and winners will be notified via email.

The results of the survey will be shared with campus early next semester.

This survey is voluntary and completely confidential; the College will not be able to trace results back to individuals.

More information is available on The Hub. Contact Courtney Howard, chief diversity officer and vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion, with questions about the survey. Those who need accommodations to participate in the survey may contact the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs.

Contact Debra Boyd, director of operations and research at Campus Climate Surveys LLC, with technical issues. Viewfinder has been developed by Insight Into Diversity magazine, the largest and most widely respected diversity and inclusion publication in higher education today.
