U.S. News & World Report Ranks College of Charleston High
The College received high marks in five categories and for three academic programs.
The College of Charleston has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top public regional universities in the South for the ninth consecutive year. The 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings cited the College of Charleston in five categories:
- No. 3 Best Undergraduate Teaching – Regional Universities in the South
- No. 4 Top Public Schools – Regional Universities in the South
- No. 5 Best Colleges for Veterans – Regional Universities in the South
- No. 9 Most Innovative Schools – Regional Universities in the South
- No. 9 Regional Universities in the South
“The College of Charleston is pleased to once again be recognized as a top school in the region and especially proud to be acknowledged as a great place for undergraduate teaching and veterans,” says College of Charleston President Andrew T. Hsu. “These rankings affirm that ‘extraordinary happens here!’”
U.S. News evaluated more than 1,500 four-year bachelor’s degree-granting institutions on over 19 measures including graduation rates, indebtedness, faculty resources and expert opinions.
Three College of Charleston academic programs were also recognized in the rankings:
- No. 164 Best Undergraduate Psychology
- No. 198 Best Undergraduate Business
- No. 281 Best Undergraduate Computer Science
Along with U.S. News and World Report, the College has also received honors in the Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2024 Best Colleges report, The Princeton Review and 2025 Fiske Guide to Colleges.
