The College of Charleston community is invited to nominate staff members for the annual Staff Awards through Monday, April 15, 2024. These awards were established by the Board of Trustees to recognize the outstanding achievements of CofC’s permanent and temporary staff members in the previous year.
The Staff Awards recognize the outstanding achievements of College of Charleston’s permanent and temporary staff members in their roles as employees and their work for the university. Employees (not departments or programs) are recognized for their achievements for the previous year. Nominees’ contributions to our campus’ core values are key factors in the selection process.
The College thrives on the talents drawn from a diverse workforce, and nominations from all units on campus are encouraged. Multi-authored nominations are also encouraged (authors may be from different departments and contribute to nominating one employee), and simply require all the authors be included in Question 7 on the nomination form.
All members of the campus community are invited to nominate CofC staff for the following three categories:
- Permanent Staff Employee of the Year ($1,500 for the primary recipient and $500 to four additional recipients)
- Temporary Staff Employee of the Year ($1,500 for the primary recipient and $500 to two additional recipients)
- Outstanding Staff Member Presidential Service Award ($1,500 for the recipient)
Please review the Staff Awards Rubric and use this online form to submit your nominations. Submissions can be made until April 15, 2024.
The Staff Advisory Committee to the President (SAC) will then review each nomination and present its final recommendations to the president, with any necessary input from the relevant executive/senior vice president.
The award recipients will be revealed at the annual Celebration of Staff, which will be held in the Johnson Center gymnasium at 11:30 a.m. on June 5, 2024.
