The College of Charleston Cougars are going to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the second year in a row after beating Stony Brook in overtime.

The Cougars beat Stony Brook in overtime 82-79 to capture the CAA tournament Tuesday night. The victory means The College has secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. They will have to wait until Sunday afternoon to find out their opponent in the first round of the March Madness tournament. The tournament pairings will be revealed live on CBS-TV during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show.
Reyne Smith led the team with 23 points and six made 3-pointers to help the Cougars win the championship game overtime.
The victory is the College’s 12th straight win, the second longest winning streak in the nation.
