College of Charleston Secures No. 1 Seed in CAA Championship

The top-seeded College of Charleston Cougars will open the quarterfinal competition of the 2024 Jersey Mike's CAA Men's Basketball Championship on Sunday, March 10.

The College of Charleston men’s basketball team ended the regular season with an 87-76 win over Hofstra University for their ninth straight victory. The Cougars became the first team to win the league by two games since George Mason in 2011.

Now 24-7, the Cougars have secured the No. 1 seed in the the 2024 Jersey Mike’s CAA Men’s Basketball Championship, to be played March 8-12 at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.

Top-seeded Charleston (24-7, 15-3) will open the quarterfinal competition at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, with No. 4 UNCW (21-9, 12-6) to follow at 2:30 p.m. The evening session will feature No. 2 Drexel (20-11, 13-5) at 6 p.m. and No. 3 Hofstra (19-12, 12-6) at 8:30 p.m.; all four teams will take on the winners of Saturday matchups. Semifinal Monday will be March 11, at 6 and 8:30 p.m. with the CAA Championship Final tipping off Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m.
