On Feb. 22 and 23, 2024, the Mroz Global Leadership Institute brought to campus a tremendous group of distinguished academics and practitioners working on conflict resolution and cooperation in various regions around the world for a summit on “Conflict, Cooperation, and Diplomacy: Perspectives on the Middle East, Latin America, China, and Russia.” (Photos by Catie Cleveland)
Dozens of students joined the Center for Civic Engagement for its Pop-Up Service event with Lutheran Carolina Services to help assemble “Welcome to Charleston” kits with hygiene and food items for refugees who are resettling in the area. The College of Charleston Bonner Leaders had a big week, with more than 30 students attending their daylong networking event, “Engage and Empower,” which introduced students with service opportunities at local nonprofits (top). And, at their weekly meeting, they met with S.C. Rep. Jermaine Johnson ’08, talking with him about everything from wellness tips to his journey to the Statehouse (bottom two photos).
