With all the shops and restaurants in downtown Charleston alone, it can be difficult to decide where exactly to go.
Let the College of Charleston community inspire you! There are plenty of businesses owned by CofC alumni to choose from – so get out there and explore them!
The following six will get you started!

Bilda Bike
Bilda Bike, opened in 2010 by Daniel Russell-Einhorn ’09, offers rentals, accessories and even advice! Redeem your 10% discount in the store at 677 King St. or online using promo code Cofcalum.

Charleston Shoe Company
If you’re walking around this city, you might pass by Charleston Shoe Company. Started by Neely Woodson Powell ’00, the Charleston shop at 161 King St. is just one of many other locations across the United States. Alumni can get 10% off both in stores or online using the promo code: CofC1.

D’Allesandro’s Pizza
Sitting on the corner of St. Philip and Bogard streets is one of three statewide locations of D’Allesandro’s Pizza, which was started by Ben D’Allesandro ’05. The CofC community gets a discount when they order online and use the code COFCCOUGS!

Pounce Cat Cafe + Wine & Bar
If you’re missing your pets back home, you can cuddle and play with rescue cats at Pounce Cat Cafe + Wine & Bar for less than $20. Started by Ashley Brooks ’14 and Annalise Hughes ’14, this cafe is located at 283 Meeting St. and hosts events ranging from regular visits to cat yoga. Reservations are recommended!

The Tiny Tassel
Founder and owner of The Tiny Tassel Mimi Striplin ’14 has been featured on The Today Show and in Southern Living – and you’ll know why as soon as you step into the clothing and accessories boutique at 46 Spring St. Featuring handmade jewelry, accessories and clothing, their styles are “designed and curated with joy in mind.” You can stop in anytime, or use the code COFCALUM online for 15% off!

Wake Refill
Wake Refill is a personal care and cleaning products store founded by Hannah Dantzcher ’19 and Grayson Jones ’19, who source the products in their zero-waste store “with sustainability and labor ethics in mind.” You can bring your own containers to their store on Cleveland Street across from Hampton Park (they also supply containers, if you forget!), or find them online.
