The Lowcountry Learning Exchange, a new Mellon-funded grant project, hosted a summer seminar the first week of June for its Faculty Fellows. The project’s focus is place-based and digital humanities with a focus on Lowcountry foodways. Faculty Fellows will be developing projects, internships and curricula throughout the three-year project. This activity is Casual Crabbing with Tia. Fellows learned to net-casting and crabbing techniques, along with the history of crabbing in the Lowcountry. (Photos by Abby Albright)
