Designed by Sonar Dolma, a Oneness performance installation had people walk silently together in a line, carrying tsa tsas (votives). The group went around the Cistern three times and the proceeded to the Albert Simons Center for the Arts. When the tsa tsas were in place and pieces of the participants’ clothing were placed around, the group stood quietly, focusing their thoughts inward. The art installation will be on display until May 3 in the area of the Simons Center that joins the Cato Center. (Photos by Paul Cheney)

Faculty and students from the School of Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs gathered in the Cistern Yard to perform capoeira, a dynamic Afro-Brazilian martial art developed by enslaved Africans in the 16th century that combines fight, dance, acrobatics and music. Characterized by fluid, low-to-the-ground and inverted movements, capoeira improves strength, flexibility, cultural awareness and community connection. (Photos by Mike Ledford)

Hootie and the Blowfish bassist and two-time Grammy winner Dean Felber, along with his wife Andrea, addressed three of the College’s entrepreneurship and management classes to share their professional experiences and answer students’ questions related to launching business ventures, pursuing passion projects and giving back to the community.
