College of Charleston Cougars Basketball Celebrates Big Wins

CofC’s women’s basketball clinched the CAA regular season title, and men’s basketball claimed the No. 2 seed at the 2026 Air Force Reserve CAA Championship!

The College of Charleston women’s basketball team (22-4, 14-1) defeated William & Mary (13-13, 6-9) 70-48 at TD Arena on Friday, Feb. 27.

With the win, Charleston has clinched at least a share of the 2025-26 CAA Regular Season Championship, and the Cougars can clinch the outright title with one win in any of their final three games. Charleston also clinched a top four seed and double-bye in the CAA Tournament with the win. The 2025–26 CAA Regular Season Championship is the first championship in Division I program history.

The College of Charleston men’s basketball team overcame a 15-point first half deficit to defeat UNCW 79-76 on March 1 in Wilmington. With the win, Charleston concludes the regular season 21-10 on the year and will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming 2026 Air Force Reserve CAA Men’s Basketball Championship.

Charleston held UNCW 0-6 from the field to start the second half before Jlynn Counter kickstarted a 10-2 Charleston run to cut the deficit to four at 46-42 with 13 minutes to play. Counter had a game-high 23 points with 20 coming in the second half. The point guard added seven assists to add to his CAA leading total.

Charleston will await the final bracket for the 2026 Air Force Reserve CAA Men’s Basketball Championship. The Cougars will start play on Sunday, March 8, in Washington, D.C.
