College of Charleston Gets Ready to Run the Bridge Run
Whether you’re planning to run, walk, volunteer or cheer from the sidelines, there are many ways to get involved in the Cooper River Bridge Run!

The College of Charleston community has a longstanding tradition of supporting the Cooper River Bridge Run – and this year is no different!
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, Cougars will support runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes at the corner of King and George streets and at the branded tailgate tent at the Finish Festival in Marion Square, where participants can pick up CofC swag after the race.

If you plan on lacing up for the race, now is the time to start training. Join the free Bridge Run Training Program (BRTP), which provides guided training tips to CofC affiliates. It’s free, flexible and open to both new and experienced runners.
Another way to assess your fitness level and optimize your health is to take advantage of the new Fitness and Community Health Testing (FaCHT) program. The program, housed in the School of Health Sciences, assesses cardiovascular fitness, body composition and metabolic rate, offering VO2 max testing and more. Community members can email [email protected] or visit the College of Charleston MarketPlace Fitness and Community Health Testing page to learn more.
Want to volunteer at the race? Help is needed assembling race packets, distributing water along the course and supporting the race in many other ways. Learn more and register to volunteer.
Show your Cougar pride around campus or at the race! Cougar volunteers who show proof of race and/or volunteer registration at the front desk of the George Street Fitness Center from March 23 through March 27 can pick up a free, moisture-wicking T-shirt, as supplies last.
And here’s a unique way for students to support the race and rev up the crowd at the start line: Submit your voice recording for a chance to be selected to sing the National Anthem! Student vocalists, send your video to [email protected] and [email protected]. Good luck!
