News Briefs

The next meeting takes place on Monday, Sept. 22, from 6–7:30 p.m.

In an ongoing effort to keep the campus and community informed and engaged on a much-needed expansion of on-campus student housing, the College of Charleston is hosting its third community meeting on the Coming Street Commons project.

The next meeting takes place on Monday, Sept. 22, from 6–7:30 p.m. at the St. Julian Devine Community Center, 1 Cooper Street, in downtown Charleston.

At the community meeting, the College and project partners will provide updates on the Coming Street Commons project in a tabling-style format. The evening will begin with a welcome from College of Charleston President Andrew T. Hsu and Thetyka Robinson of the Asiko Group.

Following welcoming remarks, members of the public will be invited to visit tables hosted by representatives from several different elements of the project, including archaeology and preservation, design and construction, housing need and community benefit and more. Information about the formation of a new community engagement council will also be shared.

Review past meeting recaps, sign up to receive project updates and view comprehensive FAQs on the project site.
