The Weather Channel Meteorologist Mikel Hannah-Harding '19 forecasts a bright future for College of Charleston students. Watch the video now!

Growing up in Beaufort, South Carolina, Mikel Hannah-Harding ’19 dreamed about working at The Weather Channel. Now that dream is a reality.

After five years at the CBS in Augusta, Georgia, Hannah-Harding has been hired by The Weather Channel in Atlanta.

“It is surreal to walk into this building every day, and I will never get tired of seeing The Weather Channel logo everywhere and working alongside individuals I grew up watching on The Weather Channel,” says Hannah-Harding.

As a child, he’d preferred watching the channel over cartoons, and, as fate would have it, just as he was about to enter college in 2017, CofC became the only undergraduate institution in South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. Hannah-Harding was one of the first to graduate with the major.

Hannah-Harding took some time out of his day to make a forecast for the new school year at the College. Check out this video for a bright year ahead!

And, as he says, “Most importantly: Go Cougs!”
