College of Charleston Students Return to Campus

Thousands of new and returning students are expected to move in this week.

College of Charleston move-in and the annual return of students are fast approaching. To make the process go as smoothly as possible, CofC is providing its move-in schedule, local street closures and the expected numbers of people on and around campus. 

 With approximately 3,500 new and returning students and their families coming to campus soon, here’s some important information to be aware of:

Move-in dates and times

  • Wednesday, Aug. 13: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.    
  • Friday, Aug. 15: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.  
  • Saturday, Aug. 16: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.  

Temporary Road Closures

Some streets will be temporarily closed to thru traffic during move-in, starting about an hour beforehand each day. The move-in campus map also shows CofC’s residence halls and unloading locations.  

  • St. Philip Street between Vanderhorst and Calhoun streets will be closed to thru traffic. 
  • Liberty Street will be one-way with access only from St. Philip Street.

The College of Charleston expects to have a total enrollment of nearly 12,000 students for the 2025–26 academic year.
