College of Charleston Offers Free Suicide Intervention Training
This summer, the Office of Student Wellness and Well-being offers free Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) to students and employees.

The College of Charleston Office of Student Wellness and Well-being is offering free sessions of the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop this summer.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in this two-day certification program from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during one of three sessions: June 9-10, July 23-24 or Aug. 13-14, 2025.* Completion of both full days is required to receive certification.
ASIST is designed to equip participants with life-saving skills in suicide prevention. Learn how to recognize signs that someone is having thoughts of suicide, respond with compassion and intervene effectively while creating a safety plan to connect the person with ongoing support.
This workshop integrates dynamic, interactive learning through presentations, group discussions and hands-on practice.
Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
Register for the June or July dates using this registration form. Those who are only available in August should email OSWW Director Rachael McNamara at [email protected] to check availability, as Students 4 Support have priority for this session.
