Free Workforce Training Available at Trident Tech

CofC employees can apply for continuing education scholarship funding at Trident Technical College.

South Carolina residents may qualify for free professional development opportunities at Trident Technical College (TTC). Eligible residents can apply to a state-funded program called the South Carolina Workforce Industry Needs Scholarship (SCWINS).

Four College of Charleston Public Safety officers are currently participating in this opportunity through their enrollment in TTC’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basics course.

TTC offers more than 20 eligible continuing education courses across the following disciplines:

  • Business
  • Culinary and hospitality
  • Health, human and personal services
  • Information technology
  • Maintenance and technical trades

Courses include Project Management Professional PMP, Fundamentals of Baking, Coding Specialist Program, Phlebotomy Training Program, Linux+ Prep and more.

SCWINS requires recipients to be South Carolina residents; enroll in qualifying workforce training courses; be employed, complete a financial literacy course or complete 100 hours of volunteer work at a nonprofit or public service organization.
