CofC Employees: Apply Now for Free Tuition Through ETAP
The deadline to apply for the Employee Tuition Assistance Program (ETAP) for the fall 2025 semester is July 1. New this semester: Karen Hauschild is available to assist employees in selecting courses through ETAP!

We at the College of Charleston are all about lifelong learning – and not just for our students.
That’s why the College created the Employee Tuition Assistance Program (ETAP), ensuring that our faculty and staff can also continue growing through knowledge, experience and scholarship. Whether pursuing a degree or a passion, qualifying employees can take classes at the College tuition free!
ETAP covers basic tuition and certain fees for up to six credit hours per academic term (see the College’s ETAP policy for details and definition of “academic term”) at the undergraduate or graduate level at the College of Charleston for a maximum of 18 credit hours each academic year.
The deadline for the fall 2025 semester is Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
And, new this semester, Karen Hauschild of the Academic Advising and Planning Center has agreed to assist employees in navigating course selection within ETAP. She will meet with employees to discuss course availability and degree/certificate completion trajectories. Interested employees can reach out to set up an appointment by emailing [email protected].

Employees should carefully review the policy and program requirements in advance, as there are stipulations. For example, employees must have approval from their supervisors.
They must also apply and be accepted for enrollment through the appropriate admissions process for each term they wish to receive funds. Employees who have applied to the College and taken courses within the last two semesters do not need to re-apply. Graduate School admission and registration guidelines will apply for graduate-level coursework.
Once admitted, employees may apply for ETAP grant funds and register for the course via MyPortal. They will be notified of their approved funding after they’ve registered and before tuition bills are due.
Contact Kendall Cage, assistant director of employee experience and success, with questions or any requests for changes. Contact Karen Hauschild at [email protected] for help choosing courses through ETAP.
