CofC Employees Participate in 'Great Colleges to Work For' Survey
The survey includes topics such as work quality, communication, management, workplace culture and benefits.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, College of Charleston employees received an invitation with details about the “Great Colleges to Work For” survey and how to access it.
The invitations were emailed from Great Colleges at ModernThink, the independent management consulting firm focusing on workplace quality in higher education that is conducting the survey. The email includes a username and password. Employees are encouraged to check their Junk folders if it did not appear in their Inbox.
Faculty and staff can access the survey from an internet browser on or off campus through Friday, March 28, 2025. Please note that answers are stored every time participants click the “Save and Continue” button at the bottom of each page, and participants may log into their survey as many times as they need to complete the survey. Once the “Submit” button on the last page of the survey is clicked, answers are locked in and participants will not be able to log in again.
This survey serves as a great opportunity to assess the climate of the campus and will include topics such as work quality, communication, management, workplace culture and benefits.
At the close of the survey, the College will receive reports that summarize the organizational competencies and relationships that most directly impact and influence the College culture. The data will help inform our progress with the Employee Experience and Success pillar of the College’s 10-year strategic plan. The results of the survey will also be compared to results from other colleges and universities participating in the survey this spring.
“I strongly encourage everyone to participate in the survey and to share your honest feedback,” said President Andrew T. Hsu in an email CofC faculty and staff. “This is another chance to make your voice heard; a high response rate helps ensure a more accurate representation of community sentiment. Your participation will provide valuable input as we chart the future of our university.”
Since 2013, the College has requested employees’ feedback and has shared the results. To view all prior sets of analyses and recordings, visit the College’s intranet, The Hub.
This survey is voluntary and completely confidential; the institution will not be able to trace results back to individuals. If you have questions about the survey, please contact the Office of the President at president@cofc.edu or 843.953.5500.
