CofC Cougar Earns Volleyball Academic All-America Honors
Caitlyn Callahan, the middle blocker with a 4.0 GPA, is the first CAA volleyball student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors since 2019.

College of Charleston middle blocker Caitlyn Callahan was named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Volleyball Academic All-America Third Team.
Callahan has a 4.0 grade point average while pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.
The All-CAA First Team selection produced a career year with the Cougars, registering a .388 attacking percentage and 155 blocks in 124 sets. The graduate student out of Wellsboro, Pa., averaged 2.43 kills and 1.25 blocks per set, helping CofC set a program record with 348 total stuffs in 2024.
Callahan becomes just the third Cougar to earn Academic All-American status. She is also the first CAA volleyball student-athlete to earn the recognition since 2019, when Hofstra’s Laura Masciullo and Towson’s Camryn Allen both secured a second-team nod.

“I’m so honored and grateful to be selected for this award,” Callahan says. “It’s a culmination of five years of working hard on the court and in the classroom. After being named First-Team All-CAA, winning the CAA regular season and tournament championship, and then moving onto the NCAA tournament, this is like the cherry on top.
“Of course, none of it would have been possible without my awesome teammates, amazing coaches, academic advisors and professors at the College of Charleston,” she adds. “Most of all, I would like to thank my mom and dad and the rest of my family who has always supported me, cheered for me at home and on the road and followed me every step of the way. I’m truly blessed to have such wonderful people who saw the best in me both athletically and academically here at the College of Charleston!”
