Cougar Night Lights Returns to the College of Charleston
The holiday tradition captures the magic of the holidays with dazzling light displays and music.
The College of Charleston will shine brightly this holiday season.
The eighth annual Cougar Night Lights will capture the magic of the holidays with dazzling light displays set to classic holiday tunes and popular contemporary songs. A total of 46,490 lights will illuminate Cistern Yard during this monthlong program.
The show kicks off in the historic Cistern Yard at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, with a special showing for College of Charleston students, staff, faculty and families, and will open to the public the next day, Dec. 3. The musical light show will run nightly every half hour between 5:30 and 9 p.m. through Jan. 2, 2025.
“The Cougar Night Lights are our joyful gift to the College and Charleston community,” says Alicia Caudill, executive vice president for student affairs. “We love to bring everyone together in the most beautiful setting during this festive time of the year.”
Cougar Night Lights is produced and designed by CofC alumnus John Reynolds ’97, an Emmy Award-winning lighting designer known for his work on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Super Bowl.
The Cistern Yard is located at the corner of George and St. Philip streets. Public parking garages are available at two locations, including the George Street Garage and St. Philip Street Garage.
