College of Charleston will host a Changemakers fireside chat on Thursday, Oct. 17, 1:40-2:55 p.m., at the School of Business‘ Beatty Center. The featured guest will be Carrie Jaquith, global head of product at Abaxx Technologies. Dig South founder and CEO Stanfield Gray will moderate the event.

Changemakers is a series created and produced by Gray Matters Consulting designed to connect innovators in technology, media, the creative arts and business to students, faculty and alumni, and to establish the campus as a hub for founders and entrepreneurs to network with early- to mid-career executives.

“I’m honored and excited to share my expertise in product innovation with students and faculty at the College of Charleston School of Business,” says Jaquith. “Changemakers is an academic program that brings together innovation, business and the liberal arts – domains that are critical to equipping students to thrive and succeed in rapidly evolving business landscapes.”

Sarah Castle, an instructor of entrepreneurship in the Department of Management and Marketing and a former Amazon executive, agrees that students will take a lot away from the fireside chat.

“College of Charleston students benefit greatly from hearing the career paths and leadership stories from founders, owners, executives and leaders at all levels,” says Castle. “Carrie’s experience in product development and AI is particularly poignant in the current business landscape and will bring a broader perspective to the Changemakers series.”

Jaquith is a digital product manager, advisory board member and educator. She leads transformative digital product, engineering, data science, analytics and design teams to build human-friendly platforms and products. Following studies in classical music, she has charted a career spanning design, software development, data and emerging technology. She and her teams have designed software applications and digital solutions in financial services and insurance, and she has led technology deployments in 21 countries.
