College of Charleston Honors College Ranked Among Best in U.S.
The College of Charleston Honors College has been ranked among the strongest and most comprehensive honors programs in the country.
Education consulting firm College Transitions has ranked the College of Charleston Honors College as the 27th best Honors College in the nation.
The ranking identified the United States’ strongest and most comprehensive honors programs. For this ranking, College Transitions evaluated nearly 500 honors colleges/programs within the United States in the following areas: selectivity, benefits offered to students and academic program rigor.
Of the top 50 institutions included on the list, the College is the only one that primarily serves undergraduate students. This designation supports the College’s upward trajectory in becoming a nationally recognized university distinguished by its innovative liberal arts core and high-achieving students and alumni.
“We are proud of this distinction and the work that our Honors College students are doing,” says Elizabeth Meyer-Bernstein, Honors College dean. “Our students continually set new standards of achievement, contributing not only to their own success, but also elevating the academic culture at the College of Charleston.”
The Honors College is currently made up of 850 students studying 67 different majors. Honors College students enjoy personalized mentorship, unique opportunities and small, seminar-style classes. They also engage in impactful activities like faculty-led research, internships and community engagement to prepare them to become transformative leaders.
