CofC Staff Advisory Committee Announces New Representatives

The Staff Advisory Committee to the President is excited to welcome the newest SAC representatives.

The College of Charleston Staff Advisory Committee to the President (SAC) is excited to announce the results of the 2024 elections for its open at-large and organizational seats.

The new SAC at-large representatives are as follows:

  • Cristy Landis – At-Large Seat F
  • Kim Lash – At-Large Seat G
  • Stephanie Colombo – At Large Seat H
  • Anne McGrath – Temporary Staff Seat

The new SAC organizational representatives are as follows:

  • Katie Hiott – Academic Schools
  • Rashad Towns* – Building and Grounds
  • Peter Russell* – Public Safety
  • George Johnson – University Marketing and Communications
  • Jacquelyn McGaha – Enrollment Planning
  • Alex Howcroft – Facilities Management

*2nd term reelection

The term for the newly elected members begins July 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2027. The executive committee members will be announced soon.

SAC values the unique perspectives, backgrounds and experiences of all College of Charleston staff and aims to provide representation from all areas of the College to support an inclusive workplace that inspires excellence and innovation resulting in a thriving staff community.

Hosting several events throughout the year – including the annual Celebration of Staff where staff accomplishments are celebrated and the recipients of the annual Staff Awards are announced – SAC represents employees across all units of the College, including approximately 1,000 full- and part-time exempt and non-exempt staff members.

The purpose of SAC is to advise the president about staff opinions concerning matters of importance to the staff and institution, to receive the president’s requests for advice and counsel regarding matters relevant to the staff, to increase awareness of the staff’s contributions to the College, to promote the recognition of outstanding staff and to advocate for ongoing initiatives supporting employee success and well-being.
