College of Charleston Players Placed on All-CAA Softball Teams
College of Charleston placed two players on the All-CAA softball team with shortstop Brooke Marquez named to the second team and outfielder Kaytlin Stacey selected to the all-rookie squad.
College of Charleston placed two players on the All-CAA softball team with shortstop Brooke Marquez named to the second team and outfielder Kaytlin Stacey selected to the all-rookie squad.
Marquez finished the season on a hot streak to raise her final average to a team-leading .325, currently ranking 17th in the CAA. She also paced the Cougars with 49 hits, 10 doubles, 30 runs scored and a .444 slugging percentage while stealing 10 bases.
The graduate transfer from Notre Dame went 8-for-9 with four doubles and four runs scored in the last series of the season against Hofstra. Marquez also had seven hits in a series against NC A&T including a season-high four hits in the middle game of that set.
Stacey enjoyed a solid freshman season, batting .296 with six doubles, 19 runs scored, 17 RBI and six stolen bases in as many attempts. She had a season-high three hits against Stony Brook and had four hits in the series against NC A&T.
