Ann Pryor ’83 is not only the vice president of alumni affairs, but also one of the 103,000+ proud members of the College of Charleston Alumni Association, an international organization that connects alumni from near and far.
Pryor explains that all CofC alumni are members of the association, noting that membership comes with many tangible benefits, including free professional certificate courses through Coursera.

Ann Pryor ’83 earned her B.A. in political science from the College and moved to Washington, D.C., to begin her professional career on Capitol Hill. She returned to her alma mater in 2015 to become the vice president of alumni affairs.
Prior to joining the College staff, Pryor was the chief operating officer of the Cultural Landscape Foundation in Washington, D.C., directing its business operations, communications and marketing programs. She worked for the American Society of Landscape Architects for 13 years.
From 1998 to 2002, Pryor served as director of regional alliances for McGraw-Hill Construction, promoting Architectural Record and Engineering News-Record magazines, among other brands. She was the director of government affairs for the American Institute of Architects from 1989 to 1995, representing the architecture profession before Congress and the White House on issues including historic preservation, small business and surface transportation.
