The College of Charleston will be in the ring for Round Two of Battle on the Bricks. The event will take place from 6–11 p.m. on April 12, 2024, in TD Arena, where the CofC community will be representing – and not just ringside!

Several alumni, a faculty member and two students are among the 30 amateur boxers going toe to toe and pound for pound this year, fighting to raise money for MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, the Warrior Surf Foundation and College of Charleston Athletic Fund supporting student-athlete scholarships. That’s how winning is done!

Get the blow-by-blow and come cheer on these Cougars as they take a punch at the champion title:

  • Dylan Applegate ’16
  • Dalton Bolon ’23 (M.A.)
  • Sarah Castle (Instructor of Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management and Marketing)
  • Aubren Lasek (Student)
  • Charly Schemm (Student)
  • Christine Whitley ’09

As the host of the Battle on the Bricks, Ryan Eleuteri ’02 is the true powerhouse behind this one-of-a-kind amateur charity boxing match, coordinating the boxers, coaches, sponsorships, tabling, charity arrangements, advertising and much more.

“What I like the most about organizing this event is how it has connected to great organizations, great people and a great community,” he says, adding that – through sponsorships, participant fundraising and community support – last year’s Battle on the Bricks raised close to $80k for MUSC Children’s Hospital and the CofC Athletic Fund. “I’ve learned that boxing gets people genuinely excited.”
