College of Charleston Employees: Apply Now for Tuition Assistance

Campus Updates, All News

CofC employees may apply for the Employee Tuition Assistance Program for summer 2024 courses through April 1, 2024.

Have you ever wanted to study astronomy, history or music? Well, thanks to the Employee Tuition Assistance Program (ETAP), you can.

ETAP is an excellent opportunity for qualifying College of Charleston employees. The program covers basic tuition and certain fees for up to six credit hours per academic term (see the College’s ETAP policy for details and definition of “academic term”) at the undergraduate or graduate level at the College of Charleston for a maximum of 18 credit hours each academic year. The deadline for summer 2024 is April 1, 2024.

Employees may begin applying now for tuition assistance for the summer 2024 semester. The deadline for applications is April 1, 2024. Employees should carefully review the policy and program requirements in advance, as there are stipulations. For example, employees must have approval from their supervisors.

They must also apply and be accepted for enrollment through the appropriate admissions process for each term they wish to receive funds. Employees who have applied to the College and taken courses within the last two semesters, do not need to re-apply. Graduate School admission and registration guidelines will apply for graduate-level coursework. Once admitted, employees may register for the course via MyCharleston or MyPortal. They will be notified of their approved funding after they’ve registered and before tuition bills are due.

Visit the HR ETAP webpage for more information and a link to the application. Contact Kendall Cage, assistant director of employee experience/success in the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs, with questions. For questions regarding admission to the College, visit https://cofc.edu/apply/.
