Here are just a few ways College of Charleston employees can save money and still fill the long summer days with fun for the whole family.

If you’re wondering how to spend the long days of summer without spending too much money, you’re in luck. As College of Charleston employees, we are eligible for discounts on all sorts of tickets, passes, shopping and services that can fill our lives with meaning and memories for the whole family without emptying the bank account.

Whether you want to visit some local attractions, get away for the weekend, take a little me-time, have a fun-filled adventure or just kick back at home, here are just a few ways you and your family can spend your summer, not your money.

1. Charleston County Parks

Active and retired CofC staff and faculty have great discounts on membership passes to Charleston County Parks – and there’s a pass for everyone!

Corporate Splash Pass

The Splash Pass is everything you need to stay cool all summer long. For the discounted price of $66.14 per pass (regularly $73.49), this family pass is valid through Labor Day, Sept. 4, 2023, and includes:

  • Splash Zone Waterpark – Unlimited free admission. Features include a tube slide, water slide and a lazy river.
  • Splash Island Waterpark – Unlimited free admission. Features include a body flume, Cyclone swirling water ride and a pool.

The Charleston County Parks discounted passes must be purchased online through the Corporate Online Pass Sales program with the CofC coupon code for the pass of your choosing. Prices include tax and are valid for current year only.

2. Biltmore

College employees receive an $8 discount on tickets to Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina. As an added bonus, kids 16 and under have free admission through Sept. 4, 2023, with one adult admission. George Vanderbilt’s magnificent estate is a unique 8,000-acre property nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. Biltmore is the perfect destination for a day trip or an overnight getaway.

3. Drayton Hall

CofC employees can get a complimentary grounds pass or a discounted rate on one adult admission of Drayton Hall, which includes a tour of the oldest preserved plantation house in America still open to the public. Drayton Hall’s main house, galleries and landscape are open Wednesdays–Mondays (not Tuesdays).

To get your complimentary grounds pass/discounted adult admission to Drayton Hall, show your Cougar Card when you buy your ticket at the gate. Please note, cash is not accepted.

4. The Spa At Charleston Place

CofC employees get 25% of all services at The Spa At Charleston Place on Mondays–Thursdays. Offering everything from manicures to massage to skincare to waxing, the spa is the perfect place to escape the summer heat – whether you need a little freshening up before you head to the beach or just a little midday getaway. And they even have special services for the kids!

Get 25% off of the regular price of services at The Spa At Charleston Place by presenting your Cougar Card at purchase, Monday through Thursday.

5. South Carolina Aquarium

CofC employees get $15 off of the purchase of a membership, valid through Dec. 31, 2023.

Memberships include unlimited admission, discounts on special events like Aquarium After Hours, and discounts for attractions and businesses like Firefly Distillery, Redfin Fishing Charters and the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in Columbia, South Carolina. Members also get discounted general admission tickets, gift shop purchases and other features at the aquarium. Memberships range in price from $99 for the Individual membership to $279 for the Family Plus membership, with plenty of other levels in between.

6. LawnStarter

CofC employees can get $20 off of lawn care services from LawnStarter.
